Acceptable Use Policy

1. Purpose
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") outlines the rules for using Schooly. It applies to all users: students, teachers, and school administrators.
2. General Conduct
All users must:
- Use the Service for legitimate educational purposes
- Treat other users with respect
- Protect their account credentials
- Report any security vulnerabilities or misuse to [email protected]
3. Prohibited Uses
You must not:
- Submit harmful, offensive, discriminatory, or illegal content
- Use AI features to generate inappropriate, misleading, or harmful material
- Attempt to manipulate AI marking to gain unearned marks
- Share exam content in violation of exam board copyright
- Access another user's account without authorisation
- Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to access the Service
- Reverse engineer or attempt to extract the AI marking algorithms
- Use the Service to facilitate academic dishonesty or cheating
4. AI-Specific Rules
4.1 Students
- Use AI marking as a learning tool, not as a substitute for genuine study
- Do not submit content designed to test the limits of the AI inappropriately
- AI marks are for practice only and should not be presented as official results
4.2 Teachers
- Review AI-generated marks before releasing them as final grades
- Ensure AI-generated questions and content are appropriate for your students
- Do not rely solely on AI marking for high-stakes assessments
4.3 Schools and Departments
- Ensure all users under your organisation comply with this AUP
- Maintain appropriate oversight of AI tool usage within your institution
5. Content Ownership
- Students own their submitted answers
- Teachers own their created questions and resources
- Schooly owns the platform, AI models, and generated feedback
- Exam board content remains the property of the respective exam boards
6. Reporting Violations
If you become aware of any violation of this AUP, please report it to [email protected].
7. Consequences
Violations of this AUP may result in:
- A warning notice
- Temporary suspension of your account
- Permanent termination of your account
- Reporting to relevant authorities where required by law
We will consider the severity and context of any violation before taking action.
